How big is baby: The midwives say (after my ultrasound on Saturday) that baby is weighing in somewhere around 4 pounds, 4 ounces. So about two weeks ahead.
Cravings: Root beer over crushed ice. Seriously, I think sonic has been sneaking crack into my cups.
Symptoms: Braxton Hicks are pretty ridiculous at this point. If I'm laying down, I might have two an hour. If I'm standing, however, that number shoots up to about 12. L&D told me they weren't worried when I came in panicked over the weekend. As long as once I DO lay down the contractions slow/go away, they said there's no reason to come back in. Other than that, sleeping has become an almighty effort as laying on one side or the other for longer than an hour causes a pretty awful lower back ache. So on the hours that I'm not waking up from an uncomfortably full bladder, I'm waking up to twirl my hips in circles and switch positions. The only other real pregnancy bothers are heartburn and some shortness of breath, but neither of those are terrible.
Mom is feeling: Still sleepy (see above.) Also a little emotionally drained after all the testing over the weekend.
Dad is feeling: Equally emotionally worn out after these last few days.
Belly: It's difficult to tell if it's actually growing, but I assume it is. At any rate, I'm still managing to bump it into counters and shut it in doors
Weight Gain: Gained 3 pounds in the last two weeks, boo! Less bread and more vegetables on my plate this week.
Doctory stuff: After our scare over the weekend, we were really hoping for things to calm down. At my appointment yesterday though, they found sugar in my urinalysis. So even though my 3 hr GTT was normal, they are going to have me retake it in two weeks. Until then, I'm going to watch my carbs/sugar better and track my intake just in case it turns out I do have GD. That way I have a good head start when I get my next test, and Baby J isn't getting any more sugar than he needs.
Things we’ve done to prepare: Does napping count? Because I've taken one every day since my last update. I bought our changing table pad and an adorable chevron cover. I also prepped the cotton prefolds that came in the mail earlier in the week and purchased 4 more diaper covers from Nicki's Diapers that should be here before I make it to 32 weeks! (They're cute, I'll take pictures.)
No appointments for two more weeks, at which point I'll have our next growth scan. Until then, I predict many hours spent laying on the couch, avoiding BH, and choking down tums.
